A defensive fortification built on the highest mountains, constructed with stone and timber by the pre-Hispanic inhabitants of the Andes Mountains. Pucarás were used as defensive fortifications, and allowed its people to have a great view of the surroundings, enabling them to clearly see the next hunting opportunity, and the threats to come.
